The Club Experience with Michigan Flyers
Flying
Members at Michigan Flyers get to enjoy not only flying on their own, but we also have club fly outs to locations like Mackinac Island and local fly-in restaurants.
Our aircraft are maintained with 100hr inspections and a robust squawk addressing system to keep the fleet in great shape.
Members are welcome to take the aircraft on overnight, even up to week-long trips with no daily minimum hours required or extra fees. Our members have taken aircraft to Arizona, Florida, New York, and everywhere in-between!
Aircraft upkeep
Members at Michigan Flyers help the club keep the fleet in great shape by wiping down the leading edges and windshield of the planes after every summer flight to prevent bugs from building up on the airframe.
Members also self-fuel the aircraft from our own fuel pump which helps us keep hourly costs low.
Members also have the option to attend weekly cleaning nights where individual aircraft and our office space / clubhouse are fully cleaned which provides a great space to meet other members
Events
Members at Michigan Flyers have access to events throughout the year whether they’re flying events or based on the ground.
The club hosts events ranging from group destination fly-outs and our annual sand drop competition to pilot controller forums with Ann Arbor Tower and Detroit Approach Radar controllers at the airport along with educational meetings with special guests on a variety of topics.
Past meeting guests include visits from the National Weather Service, University of Michigan Life Flight, designated pilot examiners, and aircraft systems experts.
